2019 garden rules:
Community plots are open to all gardeners who desire to work in the garden and participate in work sessions.
Every gardener is responsible to help with the upkeep and maintenance of the entire garden. All garden rules are to be obeyed.
Plots will be assigned every year in mid-March. First priority is given to previous gardeners and those who have fulfilled garden obligations.
Every gardener is required and expected to work 8 hours and/or participate in 2 work parties each growing season. Each gardener is also responsible for weeding and maintaining the area surrounding his or her plot.
All plots not kept weeded, watered and maintained shall be considered neglected. The gardener will be given notice, and if no changes are made, the plot will be returned to the Community Garden. This can happen anytime during the growing season, and there will be no refund of fees.
Produce which is not harvested in a timely manner will be donated to local food banks, after an attempt to contact the gardener.
Please do not harvest produce from other gardeners’ plots without their permission.
NO PETS are allowed in the garden at any time.
Gardeners are responsible to dispose of their trash and garden waste by removing it from the Garden area.
June 1 – Membership Coordinator will send notice to any gardener who has not cultivated or otherwise maintained his/her plot. The notice will include a copy of the Garden Rules and will advise that if the plot is not cultivated/maintained by June 10, the Garden will reassign the plot.
July 15 - Membership Coordinator will send notice to the gardener of each neglected plot reminding him/her of the Garden Rules regarding plot maintenance, and advising that if the plot is not cultivated/maintained by July 25, the Garden will consider plot abandoned and reassign the plot to a new gardener, with no refund of the gardener’s annual fee.
August 15 (or as needed) – Membership Coordinator will send notice to the gardener of any plot with unharvested produce, that unless the Gardener disagrees, the Garden will harvest produce from his/her plot to donate to the Food Bank
